We are actively searching for a Bell Attendant
Position Summary
The Bell Attendant is responsible for providing warm, attentive, and efficient service to all guests. This includes assisting with luggage and packages, responding to any guest requests, and ensuring a smooth arrival and departure experience. The Bell Attendant will welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; and inform guests about hotel facilities, locations, and hours of operation.
Responsibilities:
- Greet all guests in the lobby in a warm, professional manner; make them feel welcome and anticipate their needs before they arise.
- Assist guests with all luggage, packages, and personal belongings during arrival, departure, and throughout their stay.
- Respond promptly and courteously to any guest requests, questions, or concerns, and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
- Recognize all returning and VIP guests and warmly welcome them back.
- Escort all guests checking in to their accommodations in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Inform guests about guest room features, hotel facilities, services, and emergency procedures.
- Make deliveries to guest rooms (e.g., packages, amenities, messages) as instructed.
- Safely store, label, and retrieve luggage and other items for guests.
- Assist guests with transportation needs, including arranging taxis, rideshares, and providing directions.
- Support guests with disabilities by offering appropriate assistance in accordance with hotel standards and guest preferences.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, with reliable and regular attendance.
- General knowledge of basic customer service principles; fluent in oral and written English.
- Knowledge of local establishments, attractions, businesses, and the surrounding community.
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
- Ability to use tact, discretion, and good judgment when dealing with a variety of guest situations or service issues.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of experience in hotel front office or bell/guest services operations.
- Lifestyle or luxury hotel experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to bend, push, pull, stand, walk, talk, and hear, including standing for long periods.
- Must be able to grasp handles, carry bundles, and lift packages.
- Must be able to continually lift and carry up to 65 lbs. throughout the hotel during the majority of the shift.
- Physically strenuous role involving prolonged standing, walking, climbing stairs, and exposure to outdoor elements (primarily an outdoor position).
- Must be able to see objects and people at a distance.
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, including telephones and luggage.
- Long hours may be required, including weekends and holidays.
- Medium work: exerting up to 70 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 30 lbs. of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
