Requirements:
- At least 3 years dentistry experience - scaling, dental radiographs, charting, etc.
- Ability to communicate calmly, clearly, and effectively with both staff and clients
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to handle high-stress situations
- Strong computer literacy as this is a paperless practice - the majority of the work is done on the computer or with tablets
Job Duties:
- Must be comfortable with client communication, or open to developing this skill.
- Be comfortable with performing minor technical skills in front of clients (ie. blood draws and vaccines done in exam rooms when possible).
- Handle animals with care
- IV catheter placement
- Venipuncture and performing in house blood work
- Obtaining radiographs
- Obtaining blood pressures
- Prepare patients for surgery
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Obtain urine samples via cystocentesis
- Will assist a technician with appointments and treatments
- Phone triaging
- Provide demonstrations for owners (ie. ear cleaning, giving medications, etc)
- Have a knowledge base of commonly used medications, generate medication labels, and fill prescriptions
- Assisting clients with a positive and helpful attitude
