About the Role!
FGI Industries Inc. is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager to support the efficient, safe, and accurate operation of our distribution center. This role will report to the Director of U.S. Distribution Operations to oversee daily warehouse activities, including receiving, shipping, inventory control, workflow coordination, safety compliance, and team supervision. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong warehouse operations experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate employees, improve processes, and maintain a clean, organized, and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist with day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, shipping, and production related functions.
· Supervise, train, motivate, and assign work to warehouse staff while supporting performance and accountability.
· Monitor inventory accuracy, warehouse layout, workflow, and space utilization to improve productivity and efficiency.
· Ensure shipping and receiving activities comply with internal SOPs, and operational deadlines.
· Maintain compliance with health, safety, PPE, housekeeping, and conduct regular safety inspections.
· Train new employees and support forklift driver certification for daily warehouse work.
· Coordinate with logistics partners, transportation providers, customer service, and internal teams to support timely receipt and delivery of goods.
· Maintain accurate operational records, schedules, inventory information, shipping/receiving logs, and safety reports using WMS, Microsoft Office, scanners, and reporting tools.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications and skills:
· High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
· 3+ years of warehouse management, logistics, or supply chain operations experience preferred; supervisory experience is required.
· Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, shipping logistics, and warehouse safety practices.
· Ability to supervise, train, coach, motivate, and hold employees accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and performance.
· Tech savvy and proficient with warehouse management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, handheld scanners, reporting tools, and related technology.
· Strong communication, organizational, analytical, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
· Experience operating or overseeing forklifts, pallet jacks, and counterbalance equipment preferred; certification or ability to obtain certification may be required.
· Ability to work in a distribution center environment and perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
· Must be able to read, write, and interpret English.
