American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a VA or compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience.

Short-term acute care hospital setting, Level II Trauma Center with 431 staffed beds
-
Specialized SICU patient population including trauma, cardiovascular surgery (TAVR, CABG), neurosurgery, and complex post-operative surgical patients
-
Diagnoses include acute ventilator management, COVID-19 with high O2 demand, DKA, severe sepsis, unstable GI bleed, trauma, open heart recovery, TAVR recovery, post-code blue, multi-system organ failure, and CRRT needs

Patient ratio of 1:2–3, adjusted to skill level and acuity during float assignments

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00

Every other weekend required

Floating within scope required to meet facility needs

No on-call requirements

Block scheduling is not available

Charting system: Epic

Local candidates are accepted

Active VA or compact RN license required

Current ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Experience with arterial line management and blood product administration

Ventilator management experience required

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Travel pairs will be considered, though identical schedules cannot be accommodated
