Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping/Receiving & Inventory Clerk to join our team. This individual will be responsible for performing a variety of logistics, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and purchasing support tasks in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with SAP, FedEx/UPS, and inventory control, and is committed to maintaining accuracy, safety, and compliance in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, count, and verify all incoming materials, parcels, and freight.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all incoming and outgoing goods.
- Post inventory transactions and inventory movement in SAP.
- Prepare and package materials for shipment; coordinate shipments using FedEx, UPS, and freight services.
- Prepare all required shipping documents and ensure compliance with regulatory shipping requirements.
- Assist in material returns and RMAs with vendors and suppliers.
- Fulfill sales orders: picking, packing, labeling, documentation, and inventory replenishment.
- Participate in cycle counts and annual physical inventory audits.
- Issue back-order notices to production as needed.
- Maintain and review records of purchases, costs, and delivery timelines.
- Review and process purchase orders for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Assist with purchasing activities and help resolve vendor-related issues.
- Operate mechanical equipment such as pallet jacks safely.
- Ensure compliance and support continuous improvement of the QMS (Quality Management System) through SOP documentation.
- Work in temperature-controlled environments, including -20°C storage when needed.
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, suppliers, and guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in shipping & receiving, inventory control, or supply chain operations.
- 3–5 years of logistics or warehouse management experience strongly preferred.
- Manufacturing and/or bio-chemical industry experience highly desired.
- Proficient in SAP and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Knowledge of purchasing processes.
- Good mathematical skills and understanding of scientific unit conversions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and may need to stand for extended periods (up to 6 hours/day).
- Willingness to work some overtime if needed.
- Comfortable working in cold environments (-20°C storage areas).
- Certifications in Hazardous Material and Waste Shipping (DOT/IATA/RCRA) desired; 49 CFR certification required within 60 days of hire.
