American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a night shift travel position requiring a minimum of 3 years of NICU experience and active NRP certification.

Work setting is a hospital-based NICU with floating required to a stepdown NICU unit
-
Patient population includes neonates 29–34 weeks and neonates >34 weeks gestational age
-
Patient ratio is 1:3
-
Cares for patients requiring CPAP, HFNC, RAM cannula, and other respiratory support, as well as intermediate-level neonatal patients
-
Patient cases include neonatal sepsis, sepsis workup, neonatal abstinence syndrome, respiratory distress syndrome, hyperbilirubinemia, and IV therapy including blood and blood product administration

Skills utilized include central line/implanted line care, IV placement and maintenance, oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tube placement and management, phototherapy, blood glucose monitoring, thermoregulation, phlebotomy, and neonatal dosage calculations

Feeding support includes bottle, breast, and gavage feeding, as well as breastfeeding support and breast milk handling

Telemetry monitoring performed on the unit

Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00

Every other weekend required

Active WV or Compact RN license required
-
Current BLS and NRP certifications required

Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required

NICU Level II and NICU Level III skills required

Experience with Cerner preferred
-
PDF copies of Driver's License and Social Security Card required for consideration

Two professional references required for consideration

Responsibilities include developmental care, patient and family education, isolation precautions/PPE, anti-seizure medication administration, and antibiotic/antiviral administration

Hunter green scrubs required
