Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Maintenance/Engineering team by performing a variety of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks on plant facilities and production equipment.
- Maintain equipment including air compressors, HVAC systems, pumps and controls, piping, chillers, cooling towers, presses, transfer conveyors, and robots.
- Visually inspect equipment and listen for abnormal operating sounds to identify the cause of equipment malfunctions.
- Disassemble equipment using hand tools and power tools to gain access to the problem area.
- Repair and maintain mechanical and hydraulic components of production equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications, and perform maintenance using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Inspect and measure components to detect wear, misalignment, and other abnormalities.
- Replace worn or defective parts of drive mechanisms and hydraulic systems.
- Perform maintenance work in accordance with blueprints, service manuals, and equipment specifications.
- Locate damaged pneumatic and hydraulic piping, measure, cut, thread, and install new piping as required.
- Start up and test equipment after repairs to verify proper operation.
- Work collaboratively as a member of a multi-skilled maintenance team.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) and scheduled maintenance activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce and adapt to different cultural environments.
- Ability to wear and properly use various types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Thorough understanding of the operation of mechanical and electrical equipment, maintenance requirements, and maintenance standards in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt and perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and planned plant shutdowns.
- Ability to successfully complete both a comprehensive written assessment and a hands-on maintenance assessment.
