Long-Term Career Opportunity | Third-Generation Family Enterprise | San Antonio
Join a stable, third-generation family-owned management company in San Antonio’s desirable Lincoln Heights neighborhood. We are seeking an experienced CPA Tax Manager who wants to build a lasting career with us—not a short-term or transitional role. This is a permanent position for someone who values stability, meaningful work, and the opportunity to grow alongside a respected multi-entity family enterprise.
As our Tax Manager and Accounting Supervisor, you will serve as a key strategic partner. You’ll lead tax planning and compliance across corporate, trust, partnership, nonprofit, and individual entities while overseeing day-to-day accounting operations for a small, collaborative team. Your expertise will directly shape our financial strategy and long-term success in a low-bureaucracy environment where your voice matters.
What You’ll Do
- Lead tax strategy, planning, and compliance for a diverse portfolio of entities, including corporations, trusts, partnerships, nonprofits, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Proactively identify tax planning opportunities while ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Supervise, train, and mentor a small accounting team on accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and multi-entity financial operations.
- Own and optimize our SAGE accounting system, driving accuracy, efficiency, and better reporting.
- Partner closely with our current Tax Manager to streamline processes, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic initiatives.
- Stay current on tax law changes and serve as a trusted advisor on complex tax matters.
What You’ll Bring
- Active CPA license with 7+ years of strong tax preparation and planning experience, ideally in public accounting serving complex or multi-entity clients.
- Solid technical knowledge across corporate, partnership, trust, and individual taxation.
- Proficiency with accounting software (SAGE experience is a significant plus).
- Proven leadership ability with experience training and developing staff.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Oil & gas taxation knowledge is helpful but not required.
- A genuine desire for a long-term career with a stable, values-driven family business.
What You’ll Enjoy
- Competitive compensation of $140,000 – $200,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
- Comprehensive health insurance and generous paid time off.
- The stability and culture of a third-generation family enterprise that prioritizes long-term relationships and work-life balance.
- Significant autonomy and real impact in a small-office environment with minimal bureaucracy.
- The opportunity to grow professionally as the organization continues to expand and evolve.
- A supportive, close-knit team that values respect, collaboration, and excellence.
This is a full-time, in-person role based in our Lincoln Heights office with a Monday–Friday schedule.
If you’re a seasoned tax professional who wants to apply your skills in a place where your work truly matters and where you can build a long-term career with a respected family enterprise, we’d love to hear from you.
