One-on-One Direct Support Professional / Personal Care Aide
Pay: $25/hour
We are looking for a kind, dependable, and energetic caregiver to provide one-on-one
support for a sweet, fun-loving 31-year-old woman with cerebral palsy. She is small in
stature (approximately 80 lbs.) and enjoys participating in a variety of engaging activities at
her adult day program. We are seeking someone who will help her stay safe, comfortable,
and actively involved throughout her day while fostering her independence and quality of life.
Schedule
- Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
- 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (18 hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Assist with feeding during meals and snacks
- Provide toileting and personal care with dignity and respect
- Safely transfer to and from her wheelchair
- Administer medications, if needed (training provided as appropriate)
- Assist with mobility and positioning throughout the day
- Encourage and support participation in activities such as arts and crafts, games, baking, music, and community outings
- Monitor for comfort, safety, and overall well-being
- Communicate effectively with the day program staff and family as needed
- Build a positive, encouraging relationship while promoting independence whenever possible.
Qualifications
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable
- Comfortable providing hands-on personal care
- Able to safely perform transfers (or willing to learn)
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required—we are happy to train the right person
- Excellent communication skills
- Reliable transportation and punctuality are essential
