Qualifications:
- Valid Louisiana Department of Education certification with a SPED endorsement (unfortunately, TA/TAT credentials cannot be accepted)
- Current, active certification in Louisiana—ready to begin without licensing delays
- Ability to successfully complete district-required drug screening and fingerprinting, in addition to standard credentialing
- Previous experience with special education students preferred
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of each student on your caseload
- Create, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Foster positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environments
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, specialists, families, and support staff
- Engage in ongoing communication with guardians about student progress and needs
- Support students in developing both academic and social-emotional skills
- Ensure documentation is up to date and meets compliance standards

- Assignment runs August 3, 2026, through May 27, 2027
- 35 hours per week; 7-hour workdays plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch
