MDE Certified Field/Lab Technician
Full-Time (with Benefits) or Part-Time (No Benefits)
Chesapeake Environmental Lab, Inc. is seeking a motivated and dependable individual to join our team as an MDE Certified Field Collector. No certification is required to apply—we will provide the necessary training and assist the successful candidate in becoming Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) Certified.
This position is responsible for collecting drinking water and wastewater samples, assisting Lead Field Technicians with environmental projects, and supporting general laboratory operations. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, enjoys working both independently and as part of a team, and is willing to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect drinking water and wastewater samples in accordance with MDE and laboratory procedures.
- Assist Lead Field Technicians with groundwater monitoring well sampling and other environmental field projects.
- Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with clients.
- Prepare laboratory standards and perform routine quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) tasks.
- Clean and maintain laboratory glassware, equipment, and work areas.
- Maintain laboratory QA/QC logbooks.
- Maintain instrument maintenance logbooks.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and quality assurance requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Receive and process water samples
- Accurately enter jobs and field data into LIMs

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to obtain MDE Field Collector Certification (training provided).

Compensation
Starting pay is based on qualifications and experience.
