Assistant to the Vehicle Operator Hiring Immediately (Seasonal). This is a seasonal position that works M-F and includes 40-55 hours per week. If a layoff occurs, it will usually occur in the vicinity of October. You must have a license and a clean driving record. You must also be able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. What you will do:
You will support the lead operator of a Hydro Excavating vehicle that is retrofitted to clean sewer lines. You will also aid lead vehicle operators who use televising equipment to inspect sewer lines.

Daily tasks will include:
- Opening and closing sewer man-holes
- Directing traffic
- Setting up and breaking down equipment
- Driving a van full of equipment and at times pulling a water trailer with that van
- Generally supporting the lead vehicle operator
Opportunities For Advancement:
This specific hiring is a seasonal hire. You can expect that sometime between October to November to be laid off. However, the assistant operator in general is an entry level position that is used to assess if an employee possesses the aptitude, discipline, and integrity to advance to a crew lead position. If work opportunities continue through the winter or if the company enters a growth step, and a crew assistant employee is assessed to meet the necessary criteria, Pipe Services will send that employee to gain the necessary industry certificates (NASSCO License and/or CDL) to transition to a crew lead position.

You must:
- Be willing to work outside and with sewer equipment
- Have a valid driver's license
- Less than three moving violations in the last 3 years
- Have a clean driving record (no DUI's or reckless driving in the past 7 years)
- Be able to show up to the shop site in Shakopee at 6:00 AM Monday - Friday
- Be able to speak English well enough to be understood over a radio
- Be reliable
- Work well with others and have a positive attitude
- Be able to treat fellow employees and customers with respect
