Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team in providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will handle transactions accurately, assist customers with their orders, and maintain a clean and welcoming space. Experience in food preparation, POS systems such as Clover and food industry operations is preferred. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in sales, upselling, and food handling within a dynamic restaurant or retail setting.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their orders in a quick service or fast food restaurant setting
- Operate POS systems for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments efficiently while maintaining accuracy
- Assist with food preparation, food safety, sanitation, and basic food handling tasks as needed
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness of the cashier station, dining area, and surrounding spaces including bussing tables when necessary
- Follow sanitation standards and ensure compliance with health regulations in food service operations
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining high-quality service
- Support team members with additional duties such as serving or basic kitchen tasks when required
Experience
- Prior experience in food service, cashiering, or retail environments is highly desirable
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Clover is a plus
- Experience in food preparation, serving, bussing, or food safety protocols is advantageous
- Strong math skills for handling cash transactions and retail math calculations
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell and engage positively with diverse customers
- Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Previous experience working in quick service & fast food restaurants or cafes is preferred
