We are seeking an initiative-taking, dedicated and meticulous Facilities Crew Leader for our Gettysburg Campus. Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Facilities Crew Leader is responsible for leading and coordinating the daily activities of the facilities maintenance team. This role assists with project management and improvements. This role ensures that the building(s), equipment, and grounds are maintained in a clean, safe, and functional condition. The Crew Leader works alongside and supervises crew members, assigns tasks, monitors progress, and ensures quality and compliance with safety standards
Some Key Responsibilities for this role are:
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of daily tasks of the facilities maintenance staff
- Assign tasks and provide direction based on daily and long-term maintenance priorities.
- Assist Director of Facilities with project management and campus improvements.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, grounds, landscaping, and snow removal
- Monitor work to ensure quality, safety, and timely completion of assignments.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment; request purchases or repairs as needed.
- Train new staff and provide guidance and support to crew members.
- Inspect buildings and grounds regularly; report and document any safety hazards or major repair needs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety regulations.
- Coordinate with contractors or vendors when outside services are required.
- Prepare and maintain logs, reports, and maintenance records.
- Support event setup/teardown or special facility projects as needed.
- Participate in the on-call rotation
- Be available during off hours and weekends for emergencies and snow removal
The qualified candidate will have the following:
- Minimum educational requirement is a High School Diploma or GED An Associate’s Degree in operations or facilities management is preferred.
- Technical Certification or vocational training preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience
- Working knowledge of all OSHA standards and regulations
- OSHA-30 certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and public-speaking skills
- Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
- Working knowledge of MS Office products
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with people with diverse cultures, backgrounds and languages
- Valid and current driver’s license with clean driving record
- Able to operate facilities equipment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, or schematics.
- Proficiency in using maintenance tools, equipment, and software (e.g., CMMS).
- Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- May be exposed to inclement weather conditions
- Position requires the ability to see and both near and far distances, with or without reasonable accommodations

- Position requires the ability to communicate verbally and in writing
