About the Role
We are seeking a Total Rewards Manager who will play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. This position leads the administration of benefits, leave programs, payroll processing, performance management support, labor relations activities, and HR compliance initiatives to ensure equitable and effective employee programs. What You’ll Do
Total Rewards Programs (Benefits, Payroll, and Leave Administration)
- Lead annual benefits renewal and open enrollment activities.
- Administer employee health, welfare, and retirement plans, including enrollments, qualifying events, and COBRA administration.
- Maintain benefit records and ensure compliance with retirement and benefit programs.
- Serve as COBRA Administrator and backup Retirement Plan Administrator.
- Lead payroll and retirement plan audits and support required reporting and filings.
- Administer employee leave programs and partner with external leave vendors.
- Oversee multi-state payroll processing and collaborate with Finance to ensure accuracy and timely payroll administration.
- Support year-end payroll activities and W-2 preparation.
- Serve as a primary resource for employee questions regarding benefits, payroll, and leave programs.
Talent Management & Employee Experience
- Serve as an HR partner supporting employee relations and labor management activities.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance management processes.
- Support performance review and goal-setting initiatives.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to promote equity, inclusion, and accountability.
- Support offboarding activities and employee experience initiatives.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Support recruitment, hiring, reporting, and onboarding efforts in partnership with the HR team.
Compliance, Systems & Administration
- Maintain employee records and HRIS data in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Support development and improvement of HR systems and processes.
- Maintain HR resources, forms, guides, and documentation available to staff.
- Contribute to updates and communication related to employee policies and handbook materials.
- Draft and support HR policies and procedures.
- Monitor employment law developments and labor law updates impacting the organization.
- Support unemployment claims and related regulatory responses.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- HR certification and/or Payroll certification preferred.
- At least 8 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including supervisory experience.
- Experience administering employee benefits and processing multi-state payroll.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and wage and hour regulations.
- Experience working in nonprofit or unionized environments preferred.
- Experience with Paycor or similar HRIS/payroll systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and virtual collaboration tools.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
