Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a clinical setting, specifically within Primary Care/Internal Medicine. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform CLIA Waived testing and sterilize medical instruments. Nurse lab duty
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and well-stocked.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR). Experience with Athena a plus, but not required.
- Patient intake/triage, take vital signs, record and update medical/social histories, and prepare patients for examinations/procedures
- Performing Medicare Annual Wellness Visits
- Depression screening, fall risk screening
- Administer and document injections/immunizations
- Phone triage with patients and communication with pharmacies, DME companies.
- Support coding processes for billing and insurance purposes.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Engage with geriatric patients, offering specialized care tailored to their needs.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant required.
- Experience in a clinic setting, particularly in Internal Medicine or similar fields, is highly desirable.
- Ensure compliance with clinic systems and protocols for patient care.
- Effectively use necessary PPE as appropriate and adhere to safe handling and disposal protocols for medical equipment and materials
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of patient care.
Skills:

- Ability to perform vaccine administration accurately.
- Familiarity with clinic systems and electronic health records.
