Now Hiring at Our Chandler & Mesa Locations!
Are you looking for a job that’s active, meaningful, and never the same two days in a row?
Do you find yourself talking to dogs like they understand every word?
Have you ever wanted to understand what dogs are trying to tell us through their body language and behavior?
If that sounds like you, keep reading. YOU might be exactly who we’re looking for!
Why Happy Pets Palace?
At Happy Pets Palace, we’re always looking for new ways to improve the lives of dogs, their families, and our team. That’s why we’ve expanded beyond daycare and boarding to include professional dog training, enrichment programs, a Pet Portrait Studio, and our upcoming Pet Professional Academy—a hands-on program designed to inspire the next generation of pet care professionals.
Could You Be a Great Fit?
We’re not just hiring dog lovers—we’re looking for people who are obsessed with providing exceptional care for dogs, take pride in their work, and genuinely care about every dog's happiness.
The ideal candidate is:
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Positive, coachable, and team-oriented
- Calm under pressure
- Observant and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Available to work weekends and holidays
Successful candidates understand that they are not only caring for pets but also representing the Happy Pets Palace brand. Professionalism, reliability, good hygiene, appropriate attire, and a polished appearance are important parts of the role.
No professional dog experience? No problem. We hire for attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn. We’ll teach you how to safely manage playgroups, read canine body language, and become fluent in “dog.”
What You’ll Do
As a Pet Care Specialist, you’ll work with dogs ranging from 4-pound toy breeds to 160-pound gentle giants. Every dog is thoughtfully grouped by size, temperament, and play style to create safe, enriching playgroups.
We don’t just watch dogs—we celebrate birthdays, help nervous dogs build confidence, cheer on first-time daycare pups, and get excited when our regulars come running through the front door.
Every day is a little different, but your responsibilities may include:
- Supervising dog playgroups (training provided)
- Learning to read canine body language to prevent issues before they happen
- Helping dogs build confidence and positive social skills
- Providing enrichment, one-on-one attention, belly rubs, and lots of love
- Taking photos and videos for social media and daily updates
- Monitoring dog health, behavior, feeding, and medications
- Cleaning and sanitizing play yards, dog villas, dishes, laundry, and common areas
- Assisting with baths, nail trims, and other basic grooming services (training provided)
The Reality of the Job
Let’s be honest. This isn’t a 9–5 Monday–Friday desk job.
You’ll spend most of your shift on your feet, walk several miles each day, clean poop (and yes, you’ll probably step in it at least once), wash dishes, do laundry, mop floors, and likely go home covered in dog hair and slobber.
It’s physical. It’s messy. It’s fast paced. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.
But if spending your day surrounded by dogs, learning how they think and communicate, building relationships with them, and knowing you played a part in making their day better sounds rewarding… you’ll probably love it here.
