Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Dog Handler, also known as a Canine Coach, where you will play a vital role in training, handling, and caring for dogs to ensure they reach their full potential. Responsibilities
- Handle dogs safely during training, grooming, and daily activities, ensuring proper animal restraint and safety protocols are followed
- Monitor the playrooms, making sure that the pups are playing safely, adhering strictly to Dogtopia protocols and training instructions.
- Cleaning throughout the playrooms and common areas, laundry, and dishes.
- Aid in conducting Meet and Greets - speaking with clients to understand their pup and what they're looking for in our daycare, boarding or spa services. Then, evaluating the pups in open plan to ensure that they are a good fit for daycare and open play.
- Assisting in our monthly events: help set up pool days, treat days, and photo ops for our rotating monthly calendar of events. Everything from Halloween photo shoots to agility day!
- Spa appointments - ability to bath and dry a pup, nail trims, ear cleanings, brush outs, teeth brushing.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to transport or handle large or energetic dogs safely
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dog training or canine handling with a strong understanding of animal behavior and training techniques
- Veterinary experience or veterinary technician background is highly desirable
- Be a team player - always have a can do attitude and willingness to help. You are our pinch hitter and can bounce around from task to task with ease!
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
- Passionate about animals with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills and techniques

· Maintain and update cleaning schedule, along with holding themselves and team accountable to the Dogtopia’s safety and cleaning standards
· Communicate with your manager if you see any issues with pups engaging in behaviors not in accordance with Dogtopia standards and be able to pass on the Manager's decision to pet parents if necessary
· Strive for high customer review ratings!
