- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent software development experience.
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, production support engineering, or a similar hands-on technical role
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in distributed systems - comfortable with log analysis, tracing, and root cause investigation
- Proficiency in Java and experience working within microservices architectures
- Ability to read, understand, and modify code across unfamiliar services
- Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Comfort working across multiple issues with varying urgency
- Self-directed and resourceful; able to operate effectively with ambiguity as the team and processes are still forming
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed for the job:
- Experience with Kubernetes and container-orchestrated environments
- Familiarity with event-driven / choreographed microservice patterns and messaging systems (e.g., NATS or similar)
- Experience with MongoDB or other document-oriented databases
- Familiarity with frontend technologies ( Angular / JavaScript ) for end-to-end debugging
- Background in payments, fintech, or high-availability transaction processing
- Experience with observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, Grafana, or equivalent)
Prior experience in L3 support, escalation engineering, or customer-facing technical roles
