As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll help develop social skills, foster positive behavior, and build the confidence of the people we support so they can actively engage with their community — often from Horsetooth Reservoir, Lory State Park, the Poudre Canyon, or Rocky Mountain National Park instead of behind a desk.

What You'll Do
- Facilitate community activities: Help plan and guide day program outings across Northern Colorado, ensuring each activity fosters adventure, personal growth, enjoyment, and safety.
- Build social skills: Support individuals in developing social interactions and connections with peers, community members, and their support networks.
- Support positive behavior development: Use positive reinforcement and person-centered approaches to help individuals build life skills, manage challenges, and reach personal goals.
- Encourage community participation: Facilitate involvement in activities aligned with each person's interests — helping them explore new hobbies, experiences, and even employment opportunities.
- Provide transportation: Safely and reliably transport clients to and from their residence for planned activities, following assigned schedules and ensuring comfort and safety throughout.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (some roles may require additional education or certification)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Passion for supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and for Colorado's outdoors
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse populations
- Comfortable with physical activity — this isn't a desk job. You'll need to stay calm and professional in unpredictable moments, including administering first aid when needed
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work independently in the community, including calmly handling escalated behaviors or moments of crisis
- Adaptability, strong communication, and problem-solving skills
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and motor vehicle record in good standing
- Reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
- Two reference checks or letters of recommendation
- CAPS check (Colorado Adult Protective Services screening)
- CPR/First Aid certification (part of our training program)
Job Details
- Job Type: Contract.
- Schedule: 6-7-hour shifts.
- Location: Greeley and greater Northern Colorado, e.g., Fort Collins, Loveland area — in person.
