About the role
OptimaNova AI is hiring a part-time trainer to deliver our Creative Intelligence: Art + AI program to middle school and high school students in Prince George's County this fall.
Creative Intelligence teaches young people to use AI tools as creative collaborators. Students learn prompting, creative direction, and hands-on production, then apply those skills to real projects including documentary and multimedia work. This is not a lecture series. Students build things.
You will deliver instruction across two sites, working under the direct supervision of our Head of Training. You are not designing the curriculum on your own. We give you the material, we train you on it, and we support you every week.
What you will do
- Deliver AI instruction to student cohorts across two Prince George's County sites, roughly three days per week at Creative Suitland and two to three days per week at Drew Freeman Middle School
- Teach two curriculum tracks, one built for middle school students and one for high school and community participants
- Run hands-on lab time where students apply what they have learned to creative projects
- Keep attendance, completion, and participation records for each session
- Meet weekly with the Head of Training for coaching, planning, and troubleshooting
- Maintain a live virtual connection to the Head of Training during sessions so you always have backup in the room
What we are looking for
- Comfort with AI tools. You do not need to be an engineer. You need to have used these tools enough to teach them and to answer a question you did not expect.
- The ability to explain a technical idea to someone who has never heard it before, without jargon and without talking down
- Consistency. Students learn from people who show up the same way every week.
- Reliable transportation between both sites
- Experience working with middle school or high school age students
- Prince George's County residency strongly preferred
- Must pass a Prince George's County Public Schools criminal background check and fingerprinting clearance for working with minors, prior to the first session
Schedule and compensation
- 20 hours per week, including delivery time and paid preparation time
- $25 per hour
- Sessions run on weekday afternoons across five days Fall 2026 program term
How to apply
Send a resume and a short note telling us about a time you taught something technical to someone who was new to it. Video is welcome and not required.
