Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Jr. Accountant with inventory management and restaurant experience to join our dynamic finance team. Responsibilities
- Assist with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, data entry, and vendor communications.
- Support payroll management tasks using our systems , ensuring timely and accurate employee payments.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and review of financial data for discrepancies or errors.
- Maintain inventory records specific to restaurant operations, including stock levels, cost tracking, and cycle counts using software such as QuickBooks or Sage.
- Assist with compliance requirements related controls and governmental accounting standards.
- Utilize Excel for data analysis, report generation, and supporting budgeting or financial planning activities.
- Support internal audits and assist with internal control procedures to uphold financial integrity across all systems.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in accounting or finance roles with familiarity in corporate or governmental accounting environments.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; experience with financial systems like Workday is a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts including debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable management, payroll processing (ADP or UltiPro), and inventory control within restaurant settings.
- Excellent numeracy skills along with the ability to perform detailed data entry and account analysis accurately.
- Familiarity with compliance standards, such as controls and GAAP, and experience with tax preparation or non-profit accounting are advantageous.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills combined with a proactive attitude toward problem-solving and process improvement.
