Job Summary
U and U Trucking, LLC is seeking a safe, dependable Company Truck Driver to operate a company-owned tractor-trailer pulling dry van, hopper bottom, belly dump, or flatbed equipment (as assigned). Drivers are responsible for on-time pickups and deliveries, compliance with DOT regulations, accurate log bookkeeping and paperwork, and professional communication with dispatch and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company tractor-trailer pulling dry van, hopper bottom, belly dump, and/or flatbed trailers (as assigned).
- Complete pickups and deliveries on schedule; follow route and appointment requirements.
- Perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections; report defects and maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate ELD logs and required trip documentation.
- Complete and submit paperwork including BOLs, PODs, seal numbers (when applicable), and checkin/check-out procedures.
- Communicate clearly with dispatch regarding ETAs, delays, and load status.
- Follow all DOT/FMCSA regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies.
- Keep equipment clean and professional; fuel and park safely.
Freight Handling
- Freight handling is based on business needs and driver's ability.
*Note: Flatbed assignments may require checking securement and/or tarps per company policy (even when freight is no-touch).
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A (required).
- Minimum 2 years of CDL driving experience (required).
- Acceptable driving record and commitment to safety.
- Ability to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug testing (and other checks as required).
- Experience with dry van/hopper bottom/belly dump/flatbed preferred (qualified applicants may be considered).
- Ability to climb in/out of the cab and perform basic job-related physical tasks.
Route Types
- Positions may include Local, Regional, and OTR routes (based on business needs and driver availability).
Work Schedule & Conditions
- Schedule varies and may include nights, weekends, or holidays as needed. Work is performed in varying weather conditions and at customer facilities.
