Position Overview: We are seeking an Experienced Express Service Manager to oversee our high-volume lube rack and quick-lube team. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day shop flow, ensuring strict quality control, meeting production metrics, and training our entry-level technicians. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of automotive shop operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage, schedule, and mentor a team of express lube technicians; foster a productive and positive team environment.
- Workflow Management: Delegate repair orders, manage shop flow, and ensure vehicles move through the quick-lube lane efficiently.
- Training & Mentorship: Lead the hands-on training for entry-level lube techs to ensure compliance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
- Quality Control: Inspect completed work to eliminate comebacks, ensure proper fluid levels, and verify safety checks are documented correctly.
- Safety Enforcement: Oversee shop safety protocols, ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain clean, hazard-free bays.
- Customer Interfacing: Coordinate with Service Advisors to communicate vehicle needs, multi-point inspection results, and exact timelines.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of automotive shop experience required. Previous experience as a shop foreman, lead technician, express advisor, or service manager is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, exceptional time management, and proven leadership capabilities.
- License: A valid driver's license and a clean, insurable driving record are strictly required.
- Age: Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Physical: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a physical shop environment.
Schedule:
- Day shift / Full-time. Weekend availability may be required.
