The City of Kirkwood, Missouri is currently searching for one student currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a college program in horticulture, forestry, urban forestry, biology, or a related field to participate in our paid summer Urban Forestry Internship! In this challenging and rewarding position, you will assist the Urban Forester with day-to-day operations and management of Kirkwood’s urban forest. The summer internship program will provide participants with the opportunity to explore multiple aspects of urban forestry including; tree watering, tree risk assessments, tree surveys using a GIS management software, project plan review, construction site inspections to ensure contractor compliance, tree planting planning, and general management of an urban forestry program.
· Previous experience in Forestry, Landscaping, Natural Resources, or related field is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.
Summer Internship: June through September, some flexibility available.
Full Time: Monday through Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM, some flexibility available.
Pay: $15.00 an hour
Approximate Hours available: 400-450 hr

The work will be performed will be under the Supervision of the Urban Forester and the Forestry Division with the City of Kirkwood. All Kirkwood employment requirements will need to be meet before the position will start.
