Job Duties:
- Determine the amounts and types of insulation needed, and methods of installation, based on factors such as location, surface shape and equipment use
- Apply, remove, and repair insulation on industrial equipment, pipes, duct work, or other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers and tanks to help control noise and maintain temperatures
- Fit insulation around obstructions, and shape insulating materials and protective coverings as required
- Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces, using tape measures, handsaws, knives and scissors
- Read blueprints and specification to determine job requirements
- Follow safety guidelines
- Other duties as required

Required Qualifications:
- High School or Equivalency
- Not less than 18 years of age
- Physically able to perform the work of the trade with reasonable accommodations and without hazard to themselves or others
- Transportation to and from the jobsite
- Undergo drug testing at time of selection as an apprentice
- Gets along well with others
