Position purpose
The Supply and Transportation Analyst will have the responsibility for supporting all the department functions of Supply and Transportation. To include: rail transportation, truck transportation, pipeline scheduling, terminal operations, intermediate feedstock supply, natural gas supply, propane and NGLs supply, gasoline and diesel fuel supply and distribution logistics. The position requires a strong analytical background as well as exceptional skills working with spreadsheets and logistical/statistical planning programs. The job interacts with several departments within the Company: to include interaction and working in conjunction with refining, planning and economics teams. Also, interactions with numerous external customers. All of which require the ability to work in a cooperative, team environment.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
· Master all the business aspects of the Supply and Transportation Department.
· Prepare and maintain reports on liftings from Warren and outside terminals.
· Prepare and maintain various other reports as required.
· Coverage of Supply and Transportation Assistant, serve as primary back up in all functions.
· Coverage of Pipeline Scheduler & Terminal/Railroad Coordinator, serve as primary back up in all functions.
· Support of Transportation Manager as needed and as directed.
· Support of Managing Director of Supply, Trading, and Transportation as needed and as directed.
· Assist in the day-to-day operations of the URC Trucking Operation.
· Become completely familiar with all applicable tariffs under which United delivers its retail stations and wholesale customers.
· Maintain all freight tables for retail and wholesale deliveries.
· Receive and approve freight invoices for payment assuring freight and accessorial charges are correct and justified.
· Contact applicable carriers to dispute and/or correct any questionable invoices.
· Research and develop special freight projects as necessary.
· Become completely familiar with the URC Freight Billing System, updating and adjusting as required.
· Receive and voucher all supply related invoices for intermediate and finished products.
· Assist Manager of Transportation, Managing Director of Supply/Trading/Transportation, VP of Supply & Transportation with any special projects as necessary.
Qualifications, Required Skills/Abilities
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to prioritize tasks.
· Ability to function in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Computer Skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Proficient in ProComm.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
