Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide exceptional customer service throughout their visit
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Assist customers with product demos, answering questions to enhance their shopping experience
- Handle cash register operations, including cash handling, balancing cash drawers, and processing payments
- Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves and organizing products to maintain an attractive store appearance
- Promote upselling opportunities by recommending additional products or services to guests
- Maintain professional phone etiquette when responding to inquiries or providing information about store offerings
- Conduct retail store product knowledge sharing and assist in product demonstrations as needed
- Supervise and mentor new team members or interns, fostering a collaborative work environment
- Support inventory management activities such as stock replenishment and inventory counts
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail sales transactions
- Strong supervising experience with the ability to lead by example and motivate team members
- Excellent communication skills, including bilingual abilities to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Knowledge of retail store product lines, merchandising techniques, and grocery store operations preferred
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction balancing
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Familiarity with phone etiquette and effective verbal communication in fast-paced environments
- Experience conducting product demos and upselling to maximize sales opportunities
- Ability to handle stock replenishment tasks efficiently while maintaining safety standards
