As a PIRTEK Hydraulic Hose Technician & Mechanic, you will be operating out of a purpose-built mobile workshop/van and be carrying out service calls in the local area. This provides the opportunity to develop relationships with new and existing customers.
Successful candidates will be fully trained to operate a purpose-built PIRTEK service van fitted with specialized equipment designed to fabricate flexible hose assemblies on site.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate custom hydraulic hoses from customer provided sample.
- Install, repair, and replace hydraulic hoses on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, tractors, and industrial machinery.
- Diagnose hydraulic system issues.
- Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts or tractor-trailers safely during on-site repairs or parts transportation.
- Conduct welding, soldering, or assembly work as needed for hose fittings or related components.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, and ensure all work complies with safety standards and OEM guidelines.
Skills
- Proven dealership or heavy equipment service technician experience with a strong background in hydraulics and mechanical repairs.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques using power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and soldering tools.
- Experience working with diverse machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and heavy-duty trucks like tractor-trailers and car haulers.
- Ability to lift heavy components safely during installation or repair tasks; comfortable performing heavy lifting regularly.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Pay: $20.49 - $35.30 per hour
