Duties
- Greet clients and visitors warmly, ensuring a friendly and professional first impression
- Schedule appointments efficiently while managing the clinic’s calendar to optimize patient flow
- Collect payments and process medical collections accurately and securely
- Answer phone calls promptly, providing information and directing inquiries appropriately
- Assist with animal handling during check-ins and examinations, ensuring safety and comfort
- Maintain accurate records of pet information, medical history, and treatment details
- Support kennel operations by providing animal husbandry, feeding, cleaning, and basic pet care when needed
- Prepare animals for procedures using restraint techniques and ensure aseptic techniques are followed during treatments
- Assist veterinary staff with laboratory procedures, sample collection, and basic diagnostic tasks
- Manage inventory of pet supplies, grooming products, and medical materials
Skills
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, restraint techniques, and pet care practices
- Experience with animal handling across different species including dogs, cats, horses, and small animals
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures, medical collection techniques, and aseptic protocols
- Ability to perform animal catheterization and understand veterinary critical care procedures
- Kennel experience coupled with dog training or grooming skills is a plus for supporting pet comfort and owner communication
- Familiarity with pet grooming techniques enhances client service quality
- Excellent communication skills to explain treatments clearly to clients and team members
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
