Duties
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions focused on academic advising, mental health support, behavioral management, and social-emotional development.
- Develop tailored intervention plans for students facing personal or academic challenges, including conflict management and behavioral health issues.
- Assist students in navigating college applications, standardized testing preparation, career planning, and extracurricular opportunities.
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to implement effective classroom strategies that support students’ diverse needs and promote positive behavior.
- Maintain thorough documentation of counseling sessions, behavioral incidents, compliance with educational regulations, and referrals to external agencies such as child protective services or social work organizations.
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary and coordinate with mental health professionals or Christian counseling services to support student well-being.
- Promote a culturally inclusive environment by working with students from diverse backgrounds and integrating cultural diversity counseling into your practice.
- Create student schedules with PowerSchool.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid school counselor certification/license as required by local education authorities.
- Proven experience working with children and adolescents in educational or clinical settings.
- Strong knowledge of adolescent development, childhood development theories, and school legal policies.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, teachers, and community partners.
- Familiarity with educational compliance standards, regulation understanding, standardized testing procedures, and school policy implementation.
- Experience in behavioral health counseling, conflict management strategies, child welfare protocols, and social work practices.
- Ability to manage sensitive situations discreetly while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that respects cultural diversity and promotes mental health awareness.

Pay: $42,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
