Position Overview
Beverly Hills Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and dedicated Head Coach for the Middle School Girls Basketball Team. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about developing student-athletes both on and off the court while fostering a culture of discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and excellence.
The Head Coach will oversee all aspects of the middle school girls basketball program, including organizing practices, coaching games, communicating with parents and student-athletes, and representing Beverly Hills Academy with professionalism and integrity.
Responsibilities
The Head Coach will be responsible for:
- Planning, organizing, and conducting all team practices.
- Developing and maintaining the team's practice schedule and training plans.
- Teaching basketball fundamentals, offensive and defensive strategies, conditioning, and game preparation.
- Preparing the team for league games, tournaments, and postseason competition.
- Building a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, accountability, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Communicating practice schedules, game information, and program updates with parents and players in a timely and professional manner.
- Supervising student-athletes during practices, games, and team-related activities.
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of all student-athletes.
- Managing team uniforms, basketball equipment, and inventory.
- Coordinating with the Athletic Director regarding schedules, transportation, facility use, and program needs.
- Driving the school's passenger van to transport student-athletes safely to and from away games and team events.
- Promoting academic achievement, leadership, confidence, and character development among student-athletes.
- Serving as a positive role model while maintaining professionalism and integrity at all times.
- Complying with all school policies, league regulations, and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous basketball coaching experience at the middle school, high school, AAU, club, or collegiate level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, player development, offensive and defensive systems, and game management.
- Experience working with middle school student-athletes is highly preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and inspire young athletes.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to safely operate a school passenger van.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
