On-Call: Call, weekends, and holidays required
Position Overview
Facility is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join its Diagnostic Imaging team. In this role, you will perform high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations to support accurate diagnosis and patient care. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals while ensuring patient safety, radiation protection, and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
Diagnostic Imaging
- Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Produce diagnostic-quality images for radiologist interpretation.
- Operate digital radiography and imaging equipment safely and efficiently.
- Verify physician orders, patient identity, and clinical history prior to imaging.
- Position patients appropriately to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
- Continuously monitor patients during imaging procedures to ensure safety and comfort.
- Assist radiologists and authorized providers during imaging procedures as needed.
Patient Care & Safety
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining patient privacy and dignity.
- Perform peripheral venipuncture for contrast-enhanced studies when required.
- Follow proper patient identification and "Time-Out" procedures for invasive exams.
- Document patient care activities, medications, contrast administration, and incident reports in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Coordinate imaging procedures with nursing staff and patient transport teams.
- Utilize radiation protection principles and maintain ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) standards for patients and staff.
Quality Assurance & Equipment
- Perform daily equipment warm-up procedures and quality control checks.
- Ensure all diagnostic images are properly archived in PACS.
- Send images to teleradiology services when appropriate.
- Monitor imaging equipment performance and promptly report malfunctions.
- Maintain imaging supplies, linens, and inventory according to departmental standards.
- Assist with equipment evaluations, protocol development, and software improvements.
Team Collaboration
- Maintain professional relationships with radiologists, physicians, nurses, students, and fellow technologists.
- Assist with training and mentoring new staff and imaging students during clinical rotations.
- Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education activities.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology Program
- Less than one year of Radiologic Technologist experience (new graduates are encouraged to apply)
- Current ARRT (R) Certification
- Current Kentucky Radiation License (Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy)
- Current BLS Certification
- Excellent patient care and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment
Required Certifications
- ARRT (R) – Registered Radiologic Technologist
- Kentucky Radiation License
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred Qualifications
- Hospital or acute care imaging experience
- Experience with digital radiography and fluoroscopy
