Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble meals according to planned menus, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
- Assist with menu planning by contributing ideas that cater to dietary needs and preferences
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, sanitation practices, and storage guidelines
- Support food preparation activities including chopping, cooking, plating, and portioning using appropriate knife skills and culinary techniques
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment to ensure a safe working environment
- Serve meals with professionalism and courtesy, providing excellent food service to residents or customers
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate catering events or special meal requests while adhering to dietary restrictions and guidelines
Experience
- Previous experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Background in food industry roles such as restaurant or catering service provides valuable insight into food preparation and customer service
- Demonstrated culinary experience with proficiency in meal preparation, cooking techniques, and food presentation
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures is essential
- Skills in menu planning, food industry standards, and kitchen operations are preferred
- Experience with serving or catering enhances ability to deliver exceptional dining experiences
- Familiarity with knife skills, food preparation methods, and kitchen equipment operation is advantageous
