Behavioral Health Specialist, Children & Families
Pay: $30.00 per hour | Paid onboarding and training | Flexible after-school, evening, and weekend schedule | Referral bonus available
Platinum NY behavirol services is hiring compassionate, organized, and dependable professionals to provide community-based behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families throughout NYC and Rockland County. Our work is family-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. We meet children where support is needed most—at home, in school, and in the community—and help families build skills that improve daily functioning, relationships, stability, and long-term success.
This role provides Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS), including Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST) and Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR). We are especially interested in applicants with backgrounds in behavioral health, social services, case management, foster care, ABA, HCBS, family support, child welfare, youth development, education, or other community-based child- and family-serving programs. If you have strong child and family experience but have not worked under the CFTSS title before, we still encourage you to apply.

- Provide skill building, psychoeducation, coaching, and behavioral support that helps children improve coping, communication, social, and daily living skills
- Support caregivers with routines, advocacy, behavior strategies, and connection to community resources
- Collaborate with families, schools, supervisors, and other providers to support treatment goals and continuity of care
- Maintain timely progress notes, service documentation, and treatment-plan updates
- Track visits, service hours, and follow-up tasks with strong organization and accountability
- Participate in trainings and team meetings as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in psychology, social work, human services, education, sociology, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with children, adolescents, and/or families
- Strong written communication, documentation, organization, and basic technology skills
- Understanding of child development, trauma, family systems, and behavioral or mental health needs
- Ability to work independently, manage a flexible field-based schedule, and travel throughout assigned service areas
- Reliable transportation or reliable ability to travel to community-based visits
- Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
The strongest candidates are warm, accountable, and comfortable building trust in real-world settings. This is not an office-only role; it is ideal for someone who combines empathy with follow-through, stays on top of paperwork, and can support families consistently across changing schedules and environments.
