A Meaningful Entry Into Mental Health
Are you looking for a meaningful role in mental health that fits your schedule? Summit’s Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) program is looking for dedicated individuals to help clients with severe mental health conditions have the best quality of life within their own limitations. Clients in this program have conditions that can make them difficult to work with (such as severe PTSD, OCD, Schizophrenia, Dissociative Identity Disorder, Personality Disorders, etc.).
This position is entry-level for the mental health field and offers hands-on experience working with clients and managing a case load, flexibility in scheduling,* and an opportunity for professional state certification *in case management.
The Role
You will manage a dedicated personal caseload, serving as both a mentor and an advocate:
- Skills Specialist (No certification required): Work alongside therapists to develop treatment plans to help clients build habits such as budgeting, emotional regulation, cleaning routines, and study skills. You will design activities that align with treatment plans and learn to clinically document client progress.
Additional Pathway
In addition to being a Skills Specialist, Summit provides an opportunity to work towards a Behavioral Health Case Management Certificate in the State of Utah. This is an opportunity that can be discussed in more detail in the interview and/or after hiring.
Case Manager: Become your client’s primary advocate. You will learn to help them navigate community resources like housing, healthcare, and financial systems to ensure they have adequate access to available services.

This includes 12 billable hours of face-to-face meetings with clients, in addition to weekly meetings and training at Summit, bringing the total expected hours up to a minimum of 15 per week. As you become more familiar with the work, you can take on additional clients/hours as desired.
Why Summit?

Flexibility is dependent on your caseload as some clients are limited on when they are able to meet based on school or work obligations. A limited number of regular meetings have fixed times. This job is designed to work with an employee’s existing school, work, and family commitments.
- Professional Mentorship: Work under the guidance of our Clinical and Program Directors. You will receive regular supervision and support from a small, collaborative team of peers.
- Mileage Reimbursement: When necessary for the program, we provide mileage reimbursement for travel while you are transporting or traveling between clients.

- Background Check: Due to the sensitive nature of our work, you must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Equipment & Travel: This role requires a personal phone, a laptop, a valid driver's license, and reliable personal transportation that you own. You must be willing to drive clients during appointments.
Successful Candidates Are:
- Growth-Oriented: You are looking for a role that provides hands-on experience and an opportunity to work towards professional credentials.
- Active Engagement: This is a role that requires the physical and emotional ability to engage with clients of all ages and personalities. You should be comfortable participating in a variety of activities, including physical play, movement-based learning, and transitioning between different environments throughout the day.
