The Manufacturing Engineer - Metal stampings is responsible for optimizing stamping processes, tooling design, and production performance in high-speed press environments. Ensures all stamped components meet specifications, quality standards, and cost targets through robust process design and tooling modifications.
Key responsibilities:

Develop and optimize stamping processes for high-speed press.

Troubleshoot stamping operations, including press performance and die issues

Design and modify stamping dies to ensure compliance with all product characteristics

Collaborate with toolmakers on die repair, maintenance and improvements

Lead die tryouts, debug activities, and production ramp-up

Ensure product quality meets engineering drawings and customer specifications

Support PPAP and resolve non-conformances using root cause analysis

Drive continuous improvement in scrap reduction, uptime, and productivity

Partner cross-functionally on new product introduction and process stability
Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in metal stamping and high-speed press operations

Expertise in stamping die design (progressive and/or transfer tooling)

Ability to modify and debug tooling to meet product specifications

Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading

Experience with mechanical or servo presses and feeding systems
Preferred qualifications

Experience with CAD and simulation tools

Knowledge of advanced materials such as AHSS and aluminum

Lean or Six Sigma experience

Background in high-volume manufacturing environments
