Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and customer-oriented Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages and smoothies, as well as providing exceptional customer service. This position requires the ability to be on your feet for 5+ hours, move up and down stairs, lift 20+ lbs, and work in an environment where the temperature fluctuates (we are located inside a plant nursery).
Pay / Compensation:
- Starting salary is $14.50 hourly plus tips (closer to $18+ / hour)
- Free staff drinks + 1 shift meal per 5+ hour shift.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to Cafe recipes and standards
- Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar/dining area and other work spaces
- Assist with food preparation, such as running food or drink orders and plating pastries
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, addressing their inquiries, and resolving any issues in a timely manner
- Uphold company policies and procedures regarding quality, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Barista or in the food industry is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with Toast POS system is a plus
- Knowledge of espresso drinks, or willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members in a friendly and professional manner
- Understanding of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
