Job Summary
Key Hyundai of Milford is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician to join our busy, high-volume service department. This service technician role is ideal for professionals who take pride in precision, efficiency, and strong diagnostic skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately across various vehicle systems.
- Repair and maintain Hyundai vehicles, including engine repairs, powertrain servicing, electrical system troubleshooting, and alignment adjustments.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to ensure precise repairs of electrical and electronic components.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and manual handling techniques safely to perform mechanical repairs efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for each vehicle serviced.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures clearly and offering maintenance advice to clients.
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background working on Hyundai or similar automotive brands.
- Strong knowledge of automotive engine technology, electrical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Experience with ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) calibration and troubleshooting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with automotive schematics, wiring diagrams interpretation, and diagnostic tools such as OBD-II scanners.
- Hands-on experience performing powertrain repairs in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform manual tasks requiring physical strength regularly.
- Prior experience working with automotive repair software or maintenance management systems is a plus.
Qualifications
- Previous automotive technician experience required (Hyundai experience a plus)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- ASE certifications preferred but not required
- Own tools required
