Job description
The Certified Surgical Technologist position will support the facility by performing scrub duties in the Operating Room at a single-specialty (Urology) Ambulatory Surgery Center. You must be a Certified Surgical Technologist to be considered for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides surgical scrub patient care to surgical patients in the operating room.
- Prepares the operating room for procedures daily (assuring all supplies, implants, and equipment are present and ready).
- Assisting with efficient Operating Room turnover between cases to prepare for the next case.
- Efficient use, washing, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Accurate and legible documentation of the inventory and maintenance of preference cards.
- Communicates effectively with department teammates, physicians, and patients to assure continuity of patient care.
- Identifies potentially unsafe situations and notifies supervisor.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent;
- Certification as Surgical Technologist is required.
- 1-2 years OR Scrub Experience REQUIRED;
- Urology OR Scrub experience is strongly preferred.
- Must be personable, friendly, and exhibit flexibility and positive interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills are required.
- Knowledge of typical OR equipment required.
