Job Overview
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must obtain Georgia Food Handler's License within 30 days of hire (cost maximum $15)
- ServSafe Food Handler certification preferred but not required
- Minimum 1 year of restaurant line cooking or prep cook experience preferred
- Demonstrated knife skills and knowledge of proper cutting techniques
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Familiarity with cooking methods for seafood, meats, and vegetables
- Ability to follow recipes and execute dishes consistently
- Basic math skills for measuring, portioning, and recipe scaling
- Proficient in use of commercial kitchen equipment (ovens, ranges, grills, fryers, etc.)
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking terminology
- Ability to work with kitchen ticket systems or POS systems
- Understanding of FIFO inventory rotation
- Strong communication skills (verbal and listening)
- Ability to take direction and follow instructions
- Team-oriented mindset with collaborative approach
- Professional demeanor and positive attitude
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during busy service periods
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of experience in upscale or fine dining restaurants
- Experience with seafood preparation and cooking techniques
- Culinary arts training or formal culinary education
- ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification
- Experience with fusion cuisine or diverse culinary styles
- Experience with the Toast POS system is a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $17.00 per hour
