Job description:
We are seeking a mature, responsible, motivated and detail-oriented Home Care Assistant to join our growing home care agency where we provide non-medical home care to seniors and disabled persons, allowing them to age and/or heal in place.
This position is through an NCWorks WIOA program.
This is a full-time opportunity with on-the-job training (OJT) designed for individuals who are eager to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in healthcare operations.
Program Eligibility Requirements:
This position is funded through a workforce development program and candidates must:
Be a resident of Mecklenburg County
Be able to provide the required government issued identification
Meet income and eligibility requirements (as determined by NCWorks/WIOA)
What You’ll Do

Communication (Primary Responsibility)
Serve as the main point of contact for calls, texts, and messages
Route urgent or complex issues appropriately
Liaison professionally and effectively with office colleagues, corporate back office staff, registered nurses, caregivers and clients
Organization & Documentation
Maintain accurate client and caregiver files
Track and follow up on missing paperwork
Ensure documentation is complete and organized
System & Record Management
Ensure visits, notes, and records are properly entered
Keep systems accurate and up to date
Coordination & Support
Coordinate caregiver orientations
Coordinate training and assessments (both virtual and with RN staff)
Assist in maintaining compliance with documentation requirements
Compliance & Follow-Up
Qualifications:
Minimum requirement of a high school or general education diploma
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation mandatory
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion (HIPAA compliance)
Computer proficiency to include MS O365 and the ability to take the initiative needed to learn new applications to support the business
Excellent phone & interpersonal communication (verbal & written)
Problem solving & flexibility under pressure
Strong organization, attention to detail, multitasking & prioritization skills
Must be able to pass a background check
Prior experience in home health care, non-medical home care or medical environment preferred
Prior administrative experience required
