Transportation Specialist
JOB DESCRIPTION
Primarily responsible for providing transportation services for individuals with developmental disabilities and assisting with vehicle fleet maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Drives agency vehicles from Farmer’s House locations, to transport individuals according to the assigned schedule and route.
● Operates vehicles in a responsible manner to ensure maximum safety of passengers.
● Follows all regulations of operating a motor vehicle in accordance with Missouri Drivers Licensing regulations, DOT applicable regulations and Farmer’s House Policies .Must have satisfactory driving record.
● Assists individuals into and out of the vehicle if support is required.
● Operates cell phone or similar device to communicate with Medicaid Director or other vehicles to report disruption of service.
● Assists persons served with social skills and daily living skills.
● Documents daily vehicle checklist before using vehicle.
● Cleans and services vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
● Keeps records of trips and submits documentation for billing as required.
● Reports all accidents, no matter how slight. Completes appropriate documentation and turns in to Director of Medicaid Programs immediately after accident.
● Completes incident reports as required.
● Maintain CPR and other required trainings in compliance with the state and Farmers House Policy.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one year experience driving transportation vehicles preferred. Experience transporting developmentally disabled individuals preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Satisfactory driving record and appropriate classification of driver’s license for the vehicle in use is a must. Successful completion of Federal background screening, local Sheriff's Department background screening, and drug screening. CPR, First Aid, certification will be required.. In house annual defensive driving training will be required or documentation of attending such courses outside of the agency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
● Adheres to and implements policies and procedures as guided by the Director of Medicaid Programs, Employee Handbook and Programs Handbook.
● Responsible for attending all required training and maintaining the certifications.
● Documents detailed incident reports and other required paperwork based on policies in a timely manner.
● Ensures a comfortable, safe and clean environment in vehicle by overseeing they are organized, free of clutter, and clean.
● Assists with vehicle maintenance, mileage documentation and 5310 grant reporting. .
● Follow all Farmer’s House policies and procedures per the employee handbooks provided by Lever 1 and The Farmer’s House and CARF guidelines.
● Willing to engage in other tasks which may be assigned based on program growth.

Supervisory Responsibility:
● Ensuring passenger safety during transport
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment and in the community. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and/or infectious diseases.

● While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
● This position requires extended periods of walking and standing with some periods of sitting – depending on the needs and activities of the individuals supported.
● It may require light to heavy lifting up to 40 pounds and occasional stooping, kneeling, bending, and/or climbing stairs again depending on the needs of the individual supported.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
● Part Time position is non-exempt.
● Split shifts with AM pickups and PM drop offs
Travel:
● This position will be required to travel in the local communities.
Required Education and Experience:
● High School Diploma or GED equivalent
● Minimum of one year experience in a professional driving role or working with fleet management
Preferred Education and Experience
● Experience driving
● Experience in employment services.
Work Authorizations:
● Must obtain and maintain training and certification in all required areas such as Abuse/Neglect,
CPR, First Aid, and Class E driver's license.
● All employees will complete 1-9 Employment Eligibility Verification.

SALARY-$18.00-$22.00 an hour based on past experience and qualifications
STATUS: Non-Exempt
HOURS: Monday-Friday; Part-Time; split shift hours between 8:30 AM-4:30 PM;
