Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Assistant specializing in Oral Surgery to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Assist oral surgeon during a variety of surgical procedures, including extractions, implant placements & uncoverings, biopsy, exposures, apicoectomy, impression for night guards/flippers
- Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary dental instruments, sterilized equipment, and surgical supplies following strict infection prevention management protocols.
- Take and upload dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records within EMR systems such as Dentrix, and verifying vital signs to ensure patient safety before procedures.
- Ensure clinical confidentiality policies are strictly followed when handling medical documentation, records, and sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold the highest standards of infection control within the clinic environment.
- Assist with medical documentation coding using medical terminology and medical coding standards to facilitate accurate billing and record keeping.
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, for managing patient records and documentation seamlessly.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures related to oral surgery, endodontics.
- Experience with dental x-ray techniques, including intraoral radiography and panoramic imaging; familiarity with 3D scanners is a plus.
- Expertise in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic technique to ensure a sterile environment at all times.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards; experience with four-handed dentistry is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control policies aligned with clinical confidentiality policies under HIPAA guidelines.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and oral surgery for accurate communication within the team and with patients.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
