Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough wound assessments, including measuring, photographing, and documenting wounds using electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems)
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating advanced therapies such as debridement, compression therapy, and botulinum toxin treatment when appropriate
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Perform procedures including suturing, sterile dressing changes, IV infusion, catheter care, and skin grafting as needed
- Educate patients and their families on wound care protocols, infection prevention, and lifestyle modifications to support healing
- Manage complex cases involving diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries, venous stasis ulcers, and other chronic wounds
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure all procedures adhere to clinical standards
Requirements
- Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensure with certification in wound care or related specialty preferred
- Proven experience working in wound management within settings such as hospitals (including Level I & II trauma centers), nursing homes, or outpatient clinics
- Strong clinical skills including physical examinations, diagnostic evaluation, suturing, and sterile technique
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is a plus
- Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for documentation and billing purposes
- Critical care experience or ICU background highly desirable; experience in emergency medicine or acute care settings is beneficial
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with disabilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams under collaborative practice agreements
- Additional skills such as telehealth experience, infection control expertise, advanced pain management knowledge, and familiarity with medical imaging enhance your candidacy

Pay: $35,083.41 - $136,777.78 per year
