The Lead Commercial / Custom HVAC Duct Installer is responsible for leading a field installation crew in the installation of commercial and custom residential HVAC duct systems and associated air distribution components. This position ensures installations are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans, SMACNA standards, manufacturer specifications, company quality standards, and local building codes. The Lead Installer serves as the primary field representative for REEIS.
Leadership & Project Management
- Lead and supervise installation crews.
- Assign daily tasks.
- Train and mentor apprentice installers.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, builders, and other trades.
- Review project drawings.
- Identify field conflicts and develop solutions.
- Ensure projects stay on schedule.
- Complete punch list items promptly.
Installation Responsibilities
- Install rectangular, round, spiral, exposed, and flexible duct systems.
- Install branch runs, hangers, supports, VAV boxes, dampers, grilles, registers, and diffusers.
- Connect duct systems to HVAC equipment.
- Perform field modifications while maintaining code compliance.
Quality Control
- Inspect completed work.
- Ensure installations meet SMACNA and REEIS standards.
- Maintain clean jobsites.
- Verify duct sealing and support spacing.
Safety
- Enforce OSHA and REEIS safety policies.
- Conduct daily safety discussions.
- Ensure proper PPE usage.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 75 pounds.
- Work on ladders, lifts, rooftops, attics, and confined spaces.
- Work outdoors in Arizona weather.

Required Knowledge & Skills
- Read mechanical plans.
- Knowledge of SMACNA standards.
- Experience with sheet metal and flexible duct systems.

Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years HVAC duct installation experience.
- Previous lead installer experience.
- Experience with commercial and custom residential projects.
- Experience installing insulated flexible ductwork and branch runs.
- OSHA 10/30 preferred.
- Valid Arizona Driver's License.
- Boom/scissor lift experience.
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
