**Facilities Maintenance Technician - $32/Hour - Benefits Day 1!**
The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports a hospital campus by operating, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general facility components. This role ensures a safe, comfortable, and reliable environment for patients, staff, and visitors by performing both reactive repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance across hospital and clinic buildings.
Responsibilities

Operate and maintain mechanical equipment such as HVAC systems, hot water heaters, pumps, chilled water systems, steam systems, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, and related building utilities.

Use power tools and hand tools to perform adjustments, repairs, and component replacements on facility equipment and building systems.

Read and interpret meters, gauges, printouts, and other recording devices, and accurately record daily utility logs.

Conduct regular walkthroughs of mechanical rooms to inspect building conditions, identify issues, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Operate the building automation control systems to view, adjust, and edit system setpoints, including building, lighting, fire, and security controls as needed.

Provide electrical maintenance services throughout the hospital and associated clinics, including repairs to wiring, electrical fixtures, motors, controls, appliances, and other electrical components.

Repair and maintain all plumbing systems, including cleaning and repairing line plugs, fixing breaks, and performing necessary replacements using appropriate tools.

Monitor and maintain building hardware such as doors, window latches, locks, hinges, and other hardware components to ensure proper operation and security.

Perform general carpentry repairs and maintenance, including work on cabinets, countertops, and tables.

Carry out a comprehensive preventive maintenance program on mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems and maintain accurate associated records.

Document all work performed, including time spent and materials used, in the work order system to meet time recording and reporting requirements.

Initiate requests for purchasing materials and supplies required to complete maintenance and repair tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

Troubleshoot, adjust, and repair mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, general carpentry, and electrical systems within hospital and clinic buildings to minimize downtime and maintain operational reliability.
Skills

Hands-on experience operating and maintaining HVAC systems in a commercial or institutional facility.

Practical knowledge of hospital or similar critical facility environments and building infrastructure.

Strong plumbing skills, including troubleshooting, cleaning, repairing line plugs, fixing breaks, and performing replacements.

Ability to work with pumps, including operation, inspection, and basic repair.

General carpentry skills for repairs to cabinets, countertops, tables, doors, and other building components.

Electrical maintenance experience, including repairs to wiring, fixtures, motors, controls, appliances, and related systems.

Ability to read and interpret meters, gauges, printouts, and other recording devices, and accurately complete daily utility logs.

Experience using power tools and hand tools safely and effectively for maintenance and repair work.

Capability to operate building automation control systems to monitor and adjust building, lighting, fire, and security controls.

Proficiency in troubleshooting, adjusting, and repairing mechanical systems, HVAC systems, pumps, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems within large buildings.

Ability to document work performed and time spent in a work order or maintenance management system.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
