Wage Range: $16.25/hour – $17.50/hour

Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Cook/Culinarian is to prepare and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner entrees, vegetables, soup, desserts, snacks, and other items as ordered by our residents.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare meal items as ordered or directed that are safe, nutritious, appropriate temperature, and according to therapeutic diet guidelines.
- Prep foods as needed for meal service/salad bar/resident snacks
- Keeps work area and equipment clean and sanitary in compliance with policy and regulations.
- Cleans and puts away dishes and utensils. Does assigned cleaning in a timely manner.
- Completes temperature checks and records on daily log sheets.
- Plans and prepares food appropriate to age, cultural background, religious belief, and diet order of patients and residents.
- Receives, rotates and stores frozen/refrigerated foods in designated areas, as well as organizing and putting truck supplies in the appropriate space.
- Set up for service of meals, reviews expiration dates and disposes of expired products, prepares hot beverages for service, turns on equipment, sets up designated items for service including dry and refrigerated breakfast foods.
- Check work email daily at appropriate times and in communication with other team members.
- Maintain competency for the operation of all unit equipment.
Compliance:
Adheres to MH & HCSS compliance standards, policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
1. High School graduate or equivalent.
2. Food Handler Certificate
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Food Safety Manager Certificate
2. Previous experience cooking or working in a kitchen environment

Hours: Varied 8 hour shifts between 5:30a-6:30p
