```Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and operations of our facilities. As a Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe functioning of our school and church buildings and equipment. This is a key leadership role that requires strong technical knowledge and excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of our facilities, including cleaning, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades. Primarily after school/evening hours.
- Lock and unlock doors.
- Turn on/off lights.
- Clean bathrooms, offices, classrooms, hallways, gymnasium, etc.
- Vacuum all rugs and carpet areas.
- Empty all trash cans.
- Check restrooms and other areas for supplies.
- Order and maintain supplies.
- Collect mail from mailbox.
- Extract carpet as needed.
- Mow some areas of grass as directed.
- Maintain all planting beds around the school and church.
- Arrange for someone to be available to answer any alarms.
- Clear snow as needed.
- Make any needed repairs.
- Supervise custodial staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or projects
- Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement and address any safety concerns. Complete maintenance request forms as they are submitted.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and warranties -Monitor janitorial supplies including, toilet paper, paper towels, soaps, etc submitting timely order requests to ensure supplies are available
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that facilities meet the needs of the organization
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in facilities management - Any other duties that may be assigned
Skills:
- Strong mechanical knowledge, general "handyman" knowledge and capabilities
- Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proven experience in supervising custodial staff
- Ability to fabricate or repair equipment as needed
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
