About the Opportunity
Well-established accounting practice specializing in nonprofit organizations and mission-driven clients. We are seeking an experienced Audit Professional to join our team in a full-time capacity. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of nonprofit and organizational audits while collaborating closely with an experienced accounting team.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in producing accurate work, is comfortable navigating audit files and supporting documentation, and can work independently while contributing to a collaborative audit team.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform audit fieldwork, testing, and financial statement preparation for nonprofit and other organizational clients.
- Review financial statements, general ledgers, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain audit workpapers and client files.
- Perform analytical review procedures and account analysis.
- Examine supporting documentation for completeness, propriety, and accuracy.
- Identify discrepancies, missing documentation, or areas requiring follow-up.
- Communicate professionally with clients and internal staff regarding audit requests and outstanding items.
- Collaborate with team members to meet engagement deadlines and client expectations.
- Assist with additional accounting, audit, and special projects as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information.
- Stay current on applicable accounting standards and nonprofit reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in audit, public accounting, or related accounting work required.
- Experience auditing nonprofit organizations strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of audit procedures, financial statements, internal controls, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation practices.
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets, accounting software, and electronic audit workpaper systems.
- Ability to prioritize multiple engagements and manage deadlines effectively.
- Self-directed, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- CPA license or prior public accounting experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and audit software is preferred.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Westlake Village, California. The role requires regular in-office collaboration, interaction with clients and team members, and the handling of both electronic and physical audit documentation.
